Benthryl Savaris, Ayla's father, is as highly regarded as a human can be in a racist city like Antrisica. He is employed as an honored guard of the council.
- Known background story:
Ayla is born and raised in Antrisica. She has also been a lot on her own, partly because of the racism against humans in the elf-city, the other children avoided Ayla. Ayla’s parents have always been very busy people. Benthryl is a human knight, respected by the Council as much as possible for a human. He isn’t home a lot, but is often asked to “have a talk” with Ayla, when she has been up to no good.
Menela is from a highborn family of high-elves, but these have almost cut all contact with them since Menela got pregnant with a human man and married him. Menela is very sociable and extroverted and uses a lot of time out in town where she gossips, goes on a visit to friends and attend parties.
When Ayla was younger she was often brought out in town with er mother, where she would often go off on an adventure on her own when nobody was looking. In the end Ayla was left at home with guards and servants, many of whom didn’t care much or engaged much, unless Ayla was up to tricks and pranks. Ayla used a lot of time in the family library or the garden. In the library she used hours reading, but mostly fairytales and adventure-stories, everything else was too “boring”. The favorite book was what would correspond to “Robin Hood”, which really stuck with her. In the garden, Ayla played out her own adventures, sneaking around in the bushes, riding dragons and fighting evil creatures, saving the innocent and overthrowing tyrants.
One day when Ayla was six (in human terms), she met a light in the garden. She declared solemnly that the light would be her helper, and now they would go on adventures! Surprisingly the light followed her around the garden and house and helped her with her pranks, targeting the guards, the servants and her parents. Ayla read stories to the light, played with it etc. for many years. One day the light began speaking to her.
Adults around her always thought “the light” was an imaginary friend and when Ayla got older they scolded her for her childish games. Ayla stopped talking obviously to her friend when others could hear, but she never stopped the communication. Ayla got abilities that she mostly used for fun and games around the house, and to get out into the city to go on adventures. The light is not always present, but she sometimes talks to it anyway. She never talks about the light to anybody else for fear of ridicule.
She never met or talked to another warlock and therefore doesn’t think of herself as such. She is very fascinated by anything and anyone that reminds her of her connection to her light, for example Alex, the fiend with a connection to Urn. Ayla doesn’t like talking about where she got her powers from, and wil redirect the conversation when someone asks. Her light is a secret that she doesn’t want others to know about because she is sure they will think of the light is evil, or that she is crazy.
